What Recall Check is
Recall Check compares the things you say you own with public safety recall notices from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Food and Drug Administration. It is an independent, open source project. It is not affiliated with Amazon or with any government agency.
What it is not
- It is not the official notice. Always confirm a recall, and the remedy, with the official notice or the manufacturer before acting.
- It is not complete. It covers United States recalls only. Meat and poultry recalls and medical devices are not included. A recall can be missed, and a match can be wrong. Finding no recall does not mean a product is safe.
- It is not medical advice. Do not stop taking a prescribed medicine because of something Recall Check says. Ask your pharmacist or doctor.
- It is not an emergency service. If something is on fire or someone is hurt, call the emergency services.
